Leading manufacturer of rail cars has a need for an Mechanical Engineer for their plant in New York. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical engineering for rail car, rolling stock or a related industry. Knowledge of the rolling stock industries including laws, regulations and US standards. Primary responsibilities include reporting to the manager of the engineering department, authorize and issue letters to customers and vendors under the project manager’s supervision. Attend meetings and interfaces with customers and vendors relating to the systems equipment. Write test procedures and conducts tests relating to the systems equipment. Evaluate test results and generate reports. Witness the activity at the site from an engineering point of view. Client offers an excellent benefits package.
