MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER/MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

SCOPE

The scope of this position is to continue to provide design and production engineering support to the mission of the company. Such support will include design, engineering and production liaison all within the confines of the QMS AS9100.

COMPANY

The company, located adjacent to McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, is a market leader in the field of moisture control and air purification. It designs and produces a wide range of desiccators, molecular sieve filters, dehydrators and humidity indicators for the Department of Defense and prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Raytheon.

JOB DISCIPLINES

Design and Engineering

Develop conceptual design Convert conceptual sketches/design to full manufacturable, Pro-E or Autocad drawing packages Interface with suppliers (machine shops, molders, fab houses) to ensure economical design execution Develop acceptance and test plans and develop and produce first article test reports and findings

Production Liaison

Interface with Production Supervisor and Laboratory Supervisor Review manufacturing processes and initiate process improvements Set-up shop tools, machinery and develop fixtures as required

Documentation Control

Prepare, review and release production work packages Develop manufacturing plans and work instructions Initialize ECR's/ECN's, sign off and distribute Mange and administer all engineering files, MIL specs and performance test specifications

Laboratory

Assist in control and oversight of test and evaluation laboratory Set-up lab test, including equipment and instrumentation Monitor, record and evaluate test results

REPORTING

This position reports to the Technical Manager with interface to Production Supervisor, Laboratory Supervisor and Quality Control Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field 0-2 years mechanical engineering experience ProE and Autocad experience preferred Additional desired experience: knowledge and capabilities in MIG, TIG, spot and ultrasonic welding, knowledge of shock, vibration and thermal stress analysis, knowledge and grasp of the dynamics of gas and air flows and pressure differentials.
