Outstanding opportunity to join an established company and industry leader located in the Elmira NY area. Looking for experience Mechanical Engineers but will also consider entry-level candidates as well. Must have degree. Requirements are as follows: 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, advanced degree is a plus.

A minimum of 5 years experience in the design and project management in the metal cutting machine

tool industry or closely related field such as turbine design, or other aerospace type assignments.

Conceptual and detailed design of mechanical assignments such as structural design, spindle design,

gearing, bearings, screws, way systems, cutting forces, hydraulic and pneumatic systems controls,

motors servos, (finite element stress analysis, thermal analysis are a plus) and others.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD/Inventor is preferred)

• Conceptual and detailed design of mechanical assignments such as structural design, spindle design,

gearing, bearings, screws, way systems, cutting forces, hydraulic and pneumatic systems controls,

motors servos, (finite element stress analysis, thermal analysis are a plus) and others.

• Engineering design and project management of modules such as spindle assemblies, turret

assemblies, sub-spindle assemblies, tool changers, pallet-shuttle systems, cross slide and carriage

assemblies.

• Work closely with marketing and other sectors of the Company to understand and implement

marketing and customer requirements.

• Design special applications regarding automation and interface with machine tool as a major

component within the design.

• Prepare or direct preparation of required drawings, bills of material, specifications and related

documents. Follow projects through prototype construction. Prepare submissions and other

documents in final form.

• Good communication skills necessary within the organization and with outside vendors to meet

project requirements.
