Description:
***3 Month Contract Assignment*** Candidate will perform computer aided drafting and design tasks of mechanical hardware in support of the client and their division. Candidate will interact with engineering to develop layouts and prepare complete first article detail drawings, and assemblies including the development of Bill of Materials for fabrication; contribute to design modifications to improve quality of products or facilitate manufacturing operations as required. Candidate will coordinate with various groups as required in order to complete projects. Must be able to assure that parts and components fit or interface properly within the limits of allowable tolerances. Verifies own work and the work of others, checking dimensions and making mathematical calculations as necessary. Concentration is on opto-mechanical design including optical mounting, support structures, interface design and control with external supports, airborne or space environmental control.

Requirements:
US Citizen Associate’s degree, typical minimum experience is three or more years of CAD experience using Solid Works. Must have thorough knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing based on drafting standard ASME Y14.5. Fully experienced in advanced drafting techniques and skills using SolidWorks solid modeling CAD software. Must have demonstrated experience and knowledge of fabrication techniques and familiarity with industry practices and standards. Experience with opto-mechanical systems, laser systems , airborne or space sensor systems. Experience working in a research and development team environment. Additional emphasis placed on mechanical hardware design experience with support structures and liquid flow systems.
