Our preventative maintenance mechanics maintain a large national fleet of International over-the-road tractors and 53' Wabash Duraplate van trailers.

 

Our philosophy is to trade out equipment while it is still relatively new, so almost all of our shop work is preventative in nature. Our fleet is second to none. Typical positions include road breakdown coordination, trailer damage repair, oil and grease change, tire change, equipment inspection, and warranty parts replacement.

Typically positions are available in our shops in Iowa City IA (corporate offices), Atlanta GA, Columbus OH, Kingsport TN, Chester VA, Carlisle PA, Olive Branch MS, Phoenix AZ, Jacksonville FL, Forth Smith AR, and O'Fallon MO.

 Job Function: 

The preventative maintenance mechanic works with state of the art heavy haul equipment by assisting with basic inspections, general service and repair work.  Timely execution of these functions is critical to the overall success of our operation.   

 

Job Duties:

 Inspect tractor and trailers

 Repair warrantee and non-warrantee items such as:

                                1.  Brakes

                                2.  Lights               

                                3.  Minor engine repair

                                4.  Lube and service            

Other duties as assigned

 

Jobs Skills Needed:

                General mechanical background

                Basic computer familiarity and keyboard skills

                Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations

                Basic understanding of transportation equipment/terminology

                Organize and schedule workday independently

                Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, service-driven environment

                Good interpersonal skills and service attitude
