The advanced Engineering and Technology Division (AETD) of Belcan is a global provider of highly technical engineering services to a wide variety of industries. The Lexington Aerospace Design Center specializes in the design and analysis of rotating components such as transmissions, gear cases, driveshafts, etc. We are currently looking for Materials and Process Engineers. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting Material and Process (M&P) Engineering activities for all product lines. Specifically, identification and recommendation of materials, provision of substantiating performance and process data, development and analysis of design data & allowables, and creation or amending of procurement and process specifications. Individual will perform design review and approval for: materials (composites and metals), process notes & plans, producibility, environmental conformance and selection of finishes. Focus is Dynamic Systems on the Blades, Rotors and Transmission Integrated Product Teams. The position will also interface and support the material supply chain, the parts supply chain and partners, Product Integrity, Procurement, and Operations organizations, in addition to Design Engineering support. Education: A Bachelors in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience is desired. Experience/Qualifications The individual should have a minimum of 2 years M&P engineering experience, supporting complex aerospace composite or metallurgical part designs and their implementation. The individual must have broad knowledge of government and industry material specifications and test protocol. Demonstrated skills operating in a team environment, along with good communication are essential. It is also desired that the candidate have experience with process certification (6 sigma statistical experience) and design for process certification.
