As the first individual to be hired in this role in our facility it may be helpful to view this position as part of a start up operation. This will be our facility's first experience with an MRP system and the learning curves throughout the facility are steep.
The primary focus of this position in the first year will be in planning, scheduling, and tracking work orders, assisting with implementation issues inherent in first time user situations, and developing a mode of interaction that supports our production needs and work culture.
Works closely with the facility leadership team, the production team leaders and our buyer. Assist this group in meeting our production goals by providing production plans that effectively manage inventory, labor, and equipment.
Provides timely information and analysis within the facility to support efficient and profitable production through proper order allocation, work load planning and material acquisition.
Manage the use of the Adonix X3 MRP system to perform all responsibilities. MRP scheduling, planning and inventory functional modules of Adonix X3 are to be fully implemented and utilized. As needed utilize Microsoft excel to supplement X3.
Develop, implement, and maintain a closed loop planning system that minimizes total inventory costs while maintaining exceptional levels of customer service and plant productivity.
Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules and capacity plans in accordance with the sales forecasts and safety stock requirements.
Work closely with the buyer, particularly early on, to aid in the transition to an MRP environment, and in understanding the relationship to the production plan. Provide materials requirements information to leadership as needed.
Create daily work orders and follow their progress through to completion. Follow up with production Team Leaders on outstanding orders, incorporating information back into the system for further planning purposes. Adjust routings and firm work order operations as needed.
Communicate effectively with leadership team and production team leaders regarding the structure and content of the plans. Incorporate feedback from the teams for future planning purposes.
Provide feedback to leadership regarding production goals. Utilize x3 to track and support the goals and generate reports on the measurements.
Develop aggregate level resource planning for each product family for operations management's use. Highlight inconsistencies between staffing and the plan.
Develop procedures and process flows for planning and materials management activities. Maintain product routings.
Intellectual and Experience Requirements:
1. Understand the manufacturing capabilities of the facility.
2. Understand the materials used.
3. Knowledge of planning, scheduling and inventory procedures.
4. Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills.
5. Good communication skills, both written and oral.
6. Sound judgement.
7. Demonstrate the knowledge and skill generally gained from a Bachelor's degree in business or other technical discipline. Appropriate experience is more important than a degree.
8. Three to five years successful experience in planning and scheduling.
9. Certification in Production and Inventory Management a plus (APICS)
10. Experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.

Physical Requirements:
1. Must be 18 years or older and work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
2. Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
3. Sit for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
1. Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer, ovens), wet conditions.
2. Work in a moderately noisy environment, exposure to all types of people in a demanding and hectic pace.
3. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
