Our client, a Fortune 100 financial institution, needs two consultants with experience developing and implementing external partnerships who will allow the client to fully leverage their product solution while offering a value add to current customers as well as to the bank's sales channels who deliver the messaging to the end client.
Ideally each conusultant would bring partnership development/ partnership management expertise(from a financial services environment) and be able to execute on those strategies. Secondarily, our client would consider a two person team, one with very strong partnership development skills and the second as a seasoned Relationship Management executor, able to see the vision and deliver on the details. Building strong relationships within the group and across the enterprise will also be important to deliver results and affect the overall customer experience
The client expects to need the consultant for 40 hours per week for the next 18 months, until year end 2009. The consultant will need to be onsite at the client's office in SF or Concord, CA. Consultant presentation will be the week of June 30th with interviews soon thereafter and a start date of mid to end of July.

Responsibilities
For a consumer lending division of a major financial services company, join a successful effort to offer solutions, not just products, to its customers. This division of the bank acquires its new customers essentially through a cross sell relationship with current bank customers. As a result, the messaging and delivery to both the external client and also the internal sales channels Ð bank branches, the internet, etc. - are critical for success.
In the Spring 2007, our client launched a revolutionary program and has been able to measure success. The program and solutions offered continue to evolve to meet changing needs of the customers and the market. The program has several critical components and the M Squared consultants will support in two key areas:
1) External partnership development/Business Development
2) Delivery of program/partnership information through the sales channels to the customer
The successful consultants will deliver exceptional partnership management and influence management skills. Building strong relationships within the group and across the enterprise will also be important to deliver results and affect the overall customer experience. S/he will need to communicate plans and performance results to key business partners and effectively manage external vendor relationships. The ideal consultants will maximize possibility at each point of interaction.
1) External partnership development
o Identify new partnership opportunities (solid planning and thinking exist)
o Develop/solidify/update partner pitch
o Develop new partnerships
o Contact appropriate person and begin initial discussions
o Manage partnership development process, identifying synergies and needs of partner
o Determine if a "win win" exists and start negotiations
o Successfully negotiate all aspects of contract
o Replace/renegotiate current external partnerships, as needed
o Maintain an aggressive stance on partnership development Ð and drive to results
2) Program Delivery
Supported by internal teams, the M Squared Consultant will:
o Fully leverage partnership opportunities within bounds of contract
o Manage campaign and program execution
o Develop strategy for client collateral/communication whether in print or online
o Develop strategy for banker sales tools, timing, messaging, etc.
o Manage and execute details behind specific sales efforts Ð i.e. magazine distribution, tradeshow participation, etc.
o Ensure effectiveness of pitch
o Design/integrate online sites
o Deliver consistency in message
o Drive and measure results
o Share the roadmap with partners
Deliverables
Deliverables are expected to include but will not be limited to:
o High level of assessment of partnership opportunities in this space (work has been done on this topic already but the consultant(s) will review and comment)
o Delivery of new external partnership relationships that support marketing solution goals and can produce measureable results in terms of newly acquired customers/ balances
o ongoing management of external partnerships through contract negotiation and implementation, ensuring adherence to contract but also to the spirit of the partnership and an ongoing "win win" for both parties
o Successful internal implementation and follow through of all activities to maximize results; specifically, the delivery of solutions to the client's sales channels Ð in the bank branches, the internet, direct mail and in partnership with other bank partners
o Project management, including tracking and budgeting, associated with the above
Industry Experience
o Financial services experience is required
Functional Experience
o Strong business development skills(Alliances)
o Previous experience in all aspects of partnership development from concept to initial calls through contract negotiations and ultimately delivery and management
o Experience with delivery and management of programs in a cross channel environment where influence is the driver to success; understands and works within inherent challenges of said environment
o Good marketing communication skills, specifically for use in PowerPoint and/or sales facing materials
o Any online experience helpful but not required

o Strong collaboration, partnering, and relationship management skills
o Able to think strategically but also to implement
o Very strong influence management "sales" skills
o Comfortable working in an environment with changing priorities/direction based on customer and market needs
o Used to managing multiple competing priorities

o Strong PowerPoint skills
