The Highed Education Market Manager’s primary responsibility is to apply marketing methodology and practice to achieve profitable market share growth for HP, within the Higher Education marketplace.  This role will manage both internal and external relationships in order to build out the messaging and market position for HP within these markets.  This role will also be responsible for working with the PSGA marketing team to manage the advertising, demand generation and business development activities within the Education segment.   Key areas of relationship management include:•       External to HP?       Market Experts/Consultants?       Key marketing contacts with HP Alliance Partners?       Publications including trade journals•       Internal within HP?      Public Sector Sales organization?      Corporate Philanthropy within the Corporate Affairs organization?      University Relations within HP Labs?      Business product marketing managers.?       WW PSG Key Activity Management includes:•       Key Marketing Activities?       Create and manage a marketing plan  based on market research?       Create/Manage a market segmentation strategy?       Identify horizontal solution offerings and marketing programs applicable to the Education market•       Key Relationship Activities?       Educaton Tradeshow Participation?       Industry Events?       Customer Advisory Council Sessions?       Customer Briefings at the Corporate Customer Centers?       Customer Executive Forums Additional job responsibilities: - Develop close working relationships with business unit product managers to ensure tight alignment between business unit and marketing teams- Understand technology trends in the market for education customer segments - Provide messaging, positioning, content to marketing communications and sales team that lead with HP differentiators in the market- Develop and implement marketing campaigns that drive awareness and consideration and preference for HP volume through focus and differentiation within the education market Bachelor's degree in Education, Marketing or Business Administration.  A Master's (graduate) degree in Business Administration is strongly preferred. 

SKILLS:Skills include: demonstrable leadership skills, ability to work effectively in a virtual environment, strong communication skills, teamwork, strategic thinking combined with strong execution, strong analytical skills, proven decision making/problem solving skills, flexibility, creativity, ability to take initiative, interpersonal skills, presentation and sales skills. EXPERIENCE:Experience and knowledge include: at least ten years product / segment marketing experience, knowledge of the Education Technology market as a whole, prior marketing roles focused on increasing "share of wallet" within HP's customer base and increasing overall market share, previous work with education customers is a big plus, developing and executing strategic projects, driving implementation of marketing objectives across organizations/functions, and organizing/coordinating marketing activities and events.
