The Internship:We have an opportunity for a self-starter who wants to help us enhance our B2B “best customer” program.  We are looking for an individual who has some experience with Website design, discussion groups, and marketing research.  We have just launched two different Websites (one for our B2B clients and the other is a Sales and Marketing Intranet) and we already want to upgrade the sites.  The other major project addresses our desire to expand the networking value for our MVP Program participants.  After some research with our MVPs, we may decide to enhance our current email discussion group tool, or investigate other possible approaches or tools.   Website project:The first website project will be for an internal website or intranet. You would be expected to review the current internal website and make recommendations on content, make updates and maintain as necessary. You will be responsible for marketing and communication the website internally. You will learn:How to use Frontpage/HTML How to design a website within brand guidelines How to develop an internal marketing communication plan The second website project will be to provide recommendations on design and content to an external website. You will be expected to work with our IT department on the development. You will be responsible for communicating any updates and coordinating those with our IT development team. You will be responsible for creating a communication plan to introduce updates to the website externally. You will learn:How to work in a cross department team How to submit recommendations/requests How to develop an external marketing communication plan   Discussion Board Project:You would be expected to research the current participants level of satisfaction and engagement in our discussion group.  Based on the results, you would build a recommendation that may include recommending enhanced technology solutions, or a completely different approach.  Once your plan is approved, you would then begin implementation with Marketing and IT.  Once the  implementation process is started, you would be expected to create and implement a communications plan.  We expect that all these steps can be accomplished during your internship. We’re looking for a college student that have has enough experience with Websites, marketing research, and discussion boards to be able to build these recommendations. You don’t need to be an expert, but you do need to be familiar with the technology.  If you worked on similar projects in the past it would be a plus.  We would expect candidates to be marketing or technology majors.   You’ll need to have a high degree of initiative.  You’ll have a team member assigned as your “mentor” who will be there to answer questions and provide guidance, but we’ll expect you to be excited about the chance to demonstrate your skills.
