Marketing Director, College Readiness Products

 

The College Board, a national educational organization, is conducting a search for a Marketing Director who will be responsible for the development of strategic and tactical marketing plans for the College Readiness division, including analysis and recommendations for product positioning, brand image, marketing goals and marketing research.  This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and is resident in our New York City headquarters.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage the compilation of market intelligence, competitive analysis and secondary research related to College Readiness products and apply key learnings to the development of strategies.

·         Ensure that the College Readiness products division marketing campaigns align with organization-wide goals and priorities.

·         Partner with Marketing and Publication Services, collegeboard.com, and Relationship Development to identify relevant and effective media for delivery of strategic and marketing messages to target audiences.

·         Lead effective marketing campaigns for College Readiness programs and products. Develop, implement and track national and regional marketing campaigns that include direct mail, e-mail, advertising, landing sites and online demonstrations. Identify performance metrics, set goals and report on progress.

·         Interpret brand and product positioning goals and convert them into content (copy) for print and electronic collateral including white papers, research reports, case studies and promotional materials.

·         Design and develop College Readiness System materials for internal communication via the College Board website, newsletters, email updates, meeting presentations, and other marketing collateral and literature.

·         Map out an annual calendar for the College Readiness division.  Using the strategic marketing plan, attract target customers and stakeholders. Ensure consistency of messaging and adequate coverage at all College Readiness events and conferences to facilitate appropriate marketing to target customers and coordination across all stakeholder groups.

·         Partner with College Readiness staff to develop schedules, outline scope, and prepare budgets for all events, publications and marketing initiatives.

·         Assist and lead other College Board marketing initiatives as defined by central marketing function.

·         Manage external designer vendors as necessary to produce marketing materials.

                                                                             

PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS

Internal Contacts: 

Works closely with the College Readiness System division, Relationship Development department, Regional Offices, Communications & Marketing, Publication Services, Legal, and collegeboard.com.

 

External Contacts:

Maintains contacts with appropriate vendors, consultants, and other business-related outside parties.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

B.A. or B.S. degree is required and a Masters in Education or an MBA is preferred.  Five to seven years of progressively responsible marketing experience, preferably in education. Project management and supervisory experience required. Product marketing or brand marketing experience is a plus.
