Summary of Position The Marketing Designer works with the Creative Services Manager to design NGSP print promotional materials, including the development and production of catalogs, brochures, flyers, mailers, price lists, advertisements, product samplers and sampling solutions. The Marketing Designer contributes to other marketing efforts that involve the visual presentation of NGSP to the marketplace, including the development and production of exhibit display, presentation, and training materials. Responsibilities - Creates production-ready page layouts with technical efficiency utilizing appropriate software;
- Follows departmental procedures for building pages electronically while maintaining consistency and accuracy within each project;
- Adheres to pre-established design/production specifications and brand standards;
- Abililty to create and follow design templates; provides some technical or illustrative art;
- Adds value to photographs and/or solves photo problems by making revisions to image files;
- Participates in brainstorm sessions to define and create new marketing materials;
- Conceptualizes and provides initial prototype designs based on preliminary manuscript or sketches;
- Prepares thumbnail layouts, color comprehensives, design prototypes and other materials to help define designs for presentations or review;
- Creates logos, icons, page features, design elements;
- Under the direct supervision of the Creative Services Manager, serves as liaison with staff, sales representatives and sales support personnel to ensure that conference or event-specific promotional, advertising, or exhibit materials are developed on time and within budget.
- Compiles and organizes working design files (layout files, image files, logos, etc.) using established workgroup procedures in preparation for production and/or prepress services.
- Prepares print materials for high-resolution scanning and/or scans low-resolution FPO files.
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with product managers, marketing services personnel and/or sales representatives to solve layout and art issues on marketing promotional materials;
- Accurately executes requests for revision. Supervision Exercised None Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience in graphic design (preferably); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge & Skill Requirements Must possess strong computer skills in the following: Macintosh O/S; Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat; and QuarkXPress 6.5. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S highly desirable.
