Dorel Juvenile Group is looking for a Marketing Communications Director to join our Marketing Communications team at our Design and Development Center in Foxboro, MA. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing and oversee the areas of Advertising, Promotions, Public Relations, Market Research, Brand Strategy, Licensing as well as Sales and Packaging Communications.
Establish strategic communication, advertising, promotion and Market Research plans with the product marketing team. Communicate and manage agency to execute on approved PR, Advertising, and Communication Plans. Create and execute Market Research plan based on product marketing needs as well as oversee all corporate Public Relations. Establish strategic plans for consumer relationship marketing web site program.Key role in establishing the overall corporate brand strategy to build brand recognition and sales with customers and consumers through advertising, promotions, PR and licensing. Develop long term brand strategies across all brands and product platforms with Marketing team. Continually research and identify new brand/licensing opportunities for DJG.
Establish strategic licensing plans with product development teams. Work closely with licensor and Marketing throughout the year to ensure DJG capitalizes on all product opportunities. Communicate/negotiate with licensors and work with legal on all contracts. Establish, manage and monitor licensing approval process with Marcom team. Develop DJG out-licensing brand strategy with outside consulting firm.
Work with and present overall brand/communication strategies to key accounts. Create account specific brand strategies that support overall corporate direction, while creating incremental sales opportunities. Manage and resolve any potential account/licensor conflicts. Develop account specific promotional programs with account reps to support key new item introductions.
Review packaging, POP and other collateral materials with product teams, copywriter and creative services to ensure clear and concise communication and content as well as visual appeal and on strategy to brand positioning.
College degree with 10-12 plus years related experience in marketing, pr/advertising and/or licensing. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with all levels of management, personnel, business partners and line management. Extremely organized, ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment. Strong strategic planning capabilities. Effective leadership skills. Need to have the ability to champion various teams, organizations and individuals to achieve outlined strategic goals. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints and make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, customers and the media.
