Marketing Communications Coordinator
Summary
The marketing communications coordinator supports the marketing and public relations efforts of the Connecticut Bar Association, Inc. (CBA) and the CT Bar Institute, Inc. (CTBI). The marketing communications coordinator reports to the director of external affairs.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in development and implementation of an integrated marketing plan.
2. Assist the public relations effort.
3. Assist the media relations effort.
4. Assist the CBA/CTBI marketing effort.
5. Web content development and maintenance, including maintenance of the news sections of the CBA Web site.
6. Weekly creation and distribution of the CBA Weekly e-newsletter sent to all members.
7. Assist in the advertising function for various CBA and CTBI publications.
8. Proofreading.
9. Assist with annual meeting and other CBA and CTBI sponsorship efforts.
10. Responsible for exhibitors at the annual meeting.
11. Assist with offsite events, including the swearing-in ceremony twice a year.
12. Manage marketing communications mailings.
13. Manage contracted clip services.
14. Research and develop new marketing communications ideas and vehicles.
15. Assist with creation and maintenance of an archive of relevant communications materials including current messaging, press kits, FAQs, executive bios, fact sheets, and media contacts.
16. Work with graphic designer on all marketing materials.
17. Work with member service center to develop and implement member surveys and collect and analyze member data and needs.
18. Attend all staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
19. Advise and assist members as necessary.
20. Participate in appropriate professional development programs.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree in communications, marketing, business administration, English or related discipline.
2. Minimum of one year experience in public relations or marketing.
3. Excellent proofreading skills.
4. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet navigation and searching.
5. Knowledge of HTML a plus.
6. Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a strong team environment.
7. Proven problem solving ability and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks on a concurrent basis.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the CBA may find appropriate and acceptable.
