CITY: Las Vegas STATE: Nevada COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Employees will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks relating to the repair of locomotive gear cases, traction motors and wheel sets to meet business and customer safety, quality, and cost specifications. Responsibilities include identification and implementation of process and product improvements utilizing Lean manufacturing techniques. Qualifications/Requirements: Prior experience reading blue prints and using precision measurement tools including micrometers, depth gauges, vernier calipers, and dial indicators. Candidates will also have experience with or knowledge of general production tools and equipment: air tools, lathes, milling, drill press, grinders.High School diploma or GED required. Candidates must be willing to work in a high performance team environment. Basic computer literacy required. Work is physically demanding and requires much standing, some heavy lifting, and regular pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. Applicants must have valid US work authorization. Desired: Technical Diploma requiring at least 16 credit hours beyond High School or Associates Degree preferred. Welding, brazing, forklift, heavy crane experience, CNC operation, and basic AC/DC electronic knowledge a plus. Candidates will be working in a team environment and crossed trained to perform various manufacturing functions. Team orientation a must. Experience with or knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma preferred.
