Gensco Manufacturing has an immediate opportunity for a Team Lead to join our Steel Processing department in Tacoma, WA.

 

Summary:

·        Lead and direct Team Members in production and machine operations to secure and maximize safety, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.

·        Performs production scheduling, as well as planning with department manager.

·        Ensures Team Members adhere to department strategies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

·        Actively promotes and adheres to OSHA/WISHA safety standards in Gensco facilities.

·        Leads, directs and conducts machine setup, adjustment and operator level troubleshooting with a trend analysis, repair, and continuous reliability/improvement mind-set.

·        Aggressively seeks opportunities for continual improvement of processes and machine reliability.

·        Performs routine machine cleaning and user inspection and maintenance on plant facilities and equipment.

·        Has a willing commitment to personal and professional improvement.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

·         Requires high school diploma

·         Requires 2+ years supervisory experience or equivalent education in leadership

·         Demonstrated ability to motivate a team in a production environment

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills

·         Formal Leadership training a plus

·         Requires willingness in personal improvement; pursuing formal technical development, as well as professional growth

·         Prefer knowledge and experience in use of Microsoft Office products

·         Regularly and repetitively lift 50 pounds and frequently lift 75 pounds, using proper lifting techniques

·         Able to move freely about the facility, climb stairs, stoop, bend, kneel, stand and walk for extended periods of time up to and over 8 hours a day

·         Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately

·         Strong decision making abilities – understands impact and implications of decisions

·         Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency

·         Able to work at heights up to 30’

·         Possesses excellent attention to detail

·         Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

·         Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities

·         Able to work independently and posses a strong work ethic

·         Has a team oriented mentality and communication approach

·         Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment

·         Imaginative, willing to “think out-side the box”, as well as identify process improvement opportunities
