My client, a $3B+ leader in the consumer, food service and food packaging markets it serves, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Leader with strong communication skills and a passion for excellence to join its Northeast New York team in the beautiful Lake Champlain area.  This position reports to the Plant Manager.  This is a full time permanent position with good compensation, a bonus opportunity and excellent benefits, including pension (with 401K), multiple Medical options (HMO, PPO), prescription drug coverage, dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Flex Spending accounts, Basic/Supplemental Life Insurance (including dependent Life), AD&D, EAP and educational assistance.  Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. 

 

Responsibilities:

Provides department leadership to 200+ employees (salaried and hourly) Manages production and cost while meeting all quality and customer requirements. Maintains effective workforce through hiring, training, coaching and disciplinary actions. Implements and demonstrates best practices and consistent policies. Ensures timely and accurate reporting (e.g., efficiency, downtime, cost, etc.) Provides feedback up and down the organization. Develops and administers comprehensive safety awareness program. Participate in designing and implementing Continuous Improvement processes.                            

Requirements:

5 years of manufacturing experience (pulp and/or paper experience is valuable).  Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. Understands statistical methods and process improvement techniques. Effective team building and demonstrated leadership skills. Solid communications skills, written and verbal.Proficient with utility and presentation software.

Education:

BS/BA (Industrial Management, Engineering or Business).
