We are currently hiring Manufacturing Engineers with Aerospace Industry and Lean Manufacturing experience!
Summary: Contribute to the successful development of profitable new products and ongoing production through creation of and continued improvement to manufacturing processes and documentation. Must be customer focused, teamwork oriented and work with minimal supervision. Must be able to professionally and effectively interact with all levels of the organization and customers.
Successful candidate will:
Work closely with engineering on design concepts, including, taking a new design and using the blueprint to determine strengths or weaknesses in the design and determine the future needs of the design.Create and maintain detailed manufacturing and assembly travelers, including planning the sequence of operations and specified procedures for fabrication and/or assembly of parts.Design assembly and fabrication tooling and fixtures.Troubleshoot problems with existing designs, including but not limited to assembly, test, machining and process problemsWorking knowledge of MRB. Experience with troubleshooting non-conforming material.Assist/contribute/lead product and process improvements in the fabrication, assembly and test process.Initiate drawing changes.Review and sign-off on engineering changes.Interface with and support the manufacturing floor, including facilitating a technical exchange, teaching and training.Participation in kaizen events and continuous improvement activities.Interface with suppliers.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and/or minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Participation or training/education in Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement methods preferred.Highly skilled at reading blueprints, machine shop knowledge, drafting and engineering knowledge and mechanical aptitude. Working knowledge of aerospace processes and assemblies. Excellent technical writing skills. Training/education in Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement methods is desired. Knowledge of military and commercial aerospace specifications and standards.Proficiency with computers and common business and technical software (MS Office, CAD, etc.). Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and thermodynamic principles and standard drafting practices.
