John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) - improving Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data driven proactive projects. In this position, you will:Improve departmental Raw in Process (RIP) and Point of Usage (POU) inventory locations to facilitate part replenishment. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Participate in PFMEA's and Control Plans. Apply mistake proofing methodology proactively to high risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues. Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets as required. Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses to create awareness of safe and ergonomic work practices - Support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and all manufacturing equipment in areas assigned. Implement 5-S into all areas of responsibility. Analyze, specify, procure, and implement production tooling and fixtures for new and existing processes. - Assist with DPS and DPQS implementation PDP. Develop safe and efficient assembly processes for new loader products or updates to existing loader products – Define SOE's for new or revised products as required. Develop OMS's for new or revised products as required. Define and implement layout changes necessary for new product integration. Establish appropriate labor standards for changes in work content related to new loader products or product updates. Communicate changes to peers and assemblers, and conduct training as required. Education4-year Engineering / Engineering Technology Degree.Required Skills and ExperienceStrong communication skills Minimum of 3 years Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience in a final assembly environment. Knowledge of CI, Safety, and Ergonomics in Manufacturing. Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing principles Proficiency in MS Office programs. Desired Skills and ExperienceFamiliarity with software such as WPlanner, VisView, FactoryCAD, ALiSS, Pro-E, and AutoCAD Experience in Hydraulics, line design, production and product quality systems. Experience in project management.
