Well established OEM in the automation industry looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer to ensure the highest level of product quality. Duties and responsibilities include development of work cells, management of "continuing process improvement" projects in manufacturing and assembly departments, management of engineering changes and parts rework, assisting in the development of new products, process sheet maintenance, review of warranty repairs and determination of cause. Additional duties include analyzing assembly problems to their source and providing resolution, exploration of cost and lead time reduction, and periodic review of vendor quality processes and procedures. Position reports to the Engineering Manager. Requires supervision of tool makers, interaction with internal engineering, production, sales, and marketing groups, and coordination with external vendors. Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering or significant industry experience required with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Background in low to mid volume tight tolerance production components and assembled products. Experience in the design of tools, fixtures, and gauges for manufacturing and assembly. Working knowledge of Solidworks, AutoCad, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and APQP processes a plus.
