Our opportunity is located at our Miltex site in York, PA. Miltex, Inc., is one of the largest and most respected suppliers of hand-held surgical and dental products serving the healthcare dealer market.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the following: Creates engineering proposals and conducts analytical studies to develop designs for products and manufacturing processes by performing and/or directing subordinates in the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directly supervises two positions.
· Analyzes research data and proposed product and/or process specifications to determine feasibility of product and process proposals.
· Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops product and process designs.
· Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
· Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
· Plans and develops experimental test programs.
· Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications (i.e. outputs meet inputs).
· Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
· Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
· Participates in all aspects of formal Design Control Process for new products
· Directs and participates in process validations and verifications including IQ, OQ, and PQ for all equipment installations
· Analyzes manufacturing processes and initiates and manages process improvement projects to improve efficiency and quality.
· Participates in compliance initiatives as assigned (i.e. OSHA, EPA, FDA, ISO, etc.)
· Participates in development of capital project proposals and evaluations.
· Uses CAD software and equipment to create and modify mechanical drawings and perform engineering and design tasks.
· Develops new and improved tooling for manufacturing.
· Interface with contract manufacturers and other Miltex facilities for engineering design changes.
· Manages the development and documentation of product and manufacturing specifications for new and existing products (includes Bills of Material & Bills of Operation).
· Manages engineering design change processes and associated documents and drawings.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of technical files.
· Provide engineering technical input and support for new product, product improvements and other changes to existing products.
· Supports operations in multiple facilities.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering or related technical discipline and equivalent seven-year minimum experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient use of CAD software. Ability to complete manual technical mechanical drawings.
