· Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and implementing timely solutions to maintain continuity of production flow. · Participates as an active leader on New Product Development projects. Interfaces with other departments during development process to ensure design for safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost position. · Monitors and debugs production and test methods / procedures to ensure system efficiencies. · Prepares design concept drawings, cost estimates and implementation schedules for production equipment and tooling. · Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation. · Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues. · Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and production equipment. · Leads and participates in Monthly Improvement Workshops (Kaizens). · Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field. · Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred, but not required. · Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
