Unicep Packaging, Inc. , based in Sandpoint, Idaho, offers unit-dose contract packaging of liquids, gels, lotions and semisolids. We contract fill bottles and our unique, unit-dose, modified blow-fill-seal MicroDose® and Twist-Tip™ vials and thermoformed VersaPak™ single-use packages with a variety of products.
We are currently recruiting for the position ofThe Manufacturing Engineer designs production processes, tools, and machines; and develops
solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, and tooling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Responsible for the planning and design of processes for use in the manufacture of company products.
§ Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, production methods, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency.
§ Re-designs, repairs, or replaces in-process production program equipment, production control hardware, and tooling.
§ Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new programs.
§ Follows production schedule, and is aware of production needs.
§ Follows guidelines to assure machinery, room and materials are in compliance with QSR/ISO requirements.
§ Identifies and implements necessary documentation for compliance and interacts with QA personnel to assure compliance.
§ Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
§ Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigates their potential application. Recommends incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
§ Minimum three (3) years experience in a Machine Shop/Manufacturing setting preferred.
§ Experience with Weiler, Norden, Lee, Accutek, Bartelt and blowfill seal, tube and pouching machines preferred.
§ Knowledge of mechanical principles, machining practices, the properties of metals, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.
§ Knowledge of modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques.
§ Strong drafting skills.
§ Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problem, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and be attentive to detail.
§ Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to solve production problems in a timely manner.
§ Ability to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
§ Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
§ Working knowledge of computer systems and data processing.
§ Familiar with computer-controlled machine tools and has had exposure to high-volume automated production equipment.
