As part of our team you will provide engineering leadership at the world’s largest maker of heavy construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines. We are headquartered in Illinois and have operations in over 300 locations in 40 countries. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 4-6 years manufacturing engineering experience in large vehicles, large engines, or heavy equipment. To solve a technical problem, perform advanced planning, or create critical components and systems within budget, while meeting the requirements of the internal or external customer. This position interacts with all internal functional areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, NPI, and Purchasing. EEOC This Manufacturing Engineer is a high visibility leadership position within the rapidly growing Remanufacturing Division and reports to the Manufacturing Manager in Summerville, SC. This engineer creates and implements manufacturing process changes including NPI, Cost Reduction, and Process Improvements. This position interacts with all internal functional areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, NPI, and Purchasing. The incumbent is responsible for guiding internal process development and purchase finished supplier interaction. •Tool design, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc. and requires the coordination of all disciplines. •Plans and coordinates the installation of machines, equipment, and process changes to provide efficient manufacture or assembly of quality parts to meet product schedules. •Ensures optimum use of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage areas, test equipment, etc. to accommodate the changing requirements. •Establishes standards and works with shop personnel to resolve problems related to process, tooling, equipment, etc. Ensures implementation of modern technology and follows to determine effectiveness of equipment and systems. •Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, affirmative action, etc. in performing assigned duties. Individuals should possess an above average level of Powertrain and Hydraulics knowledge. Candidate should be able to lead, monitor, and manage projects. The candidate must be promotable and mobile with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Must also possess strong communication skills and business acumen.
