Minimum Requirements/Experience: Bachelor?S degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering plus a minimum of five years aerospace composite materials manufacturing engineering related experience. Note: Strong engineering background specifically in advanced composites manufacturing is necessary. Proficient user of Catia 5, FiberSim is desirable. Example of Duties: Evaluates, develops and organizes manufacturing plans, defining processes, procedures, and requirements for the manufacturing phase of new or sustaining programs. Coordinates the implementation of such plans with all affected departments from Design Engineering through Production to ensure compliance with all aspects of the plan; verifies that the most efficient and economical methods of tool and product manufacture are accomplished. Monitors the tool and manufacturing phases of the program providing functional consultation and guidance to manufacturing and support personnel for assigned programs. Resolves complex problems involving tooling, part manufacturing, equipment utilization and production techniques. Ensures that tooling provided meets established standards by developing and implementing tool proofing methods and fit check tests. Monitors program costs, identifies and implements lean manufacturing improvements, participates in new business proposal analysis; determines tooling and manufacturing requirements; assists in the development of costs estimates in the determination of tooling costs, manpower requirements, etc.
