We currently have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to work at our Shenandoah, Iowa plant. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining and improving manufacturing processes. To achieve success in this roll, the selected individual will
- Assure capable and reliable production of quality transmissions and transmission parts.
- Maintain and update process documentation as well as establish part processing to ensure the highest quality part at the optimum production rate.
- Review new part drawings and process for evaluation of effects on current assembly systems.
- Continually evaluate current processes for methods improvements related to safety and ergonomics
- Review and approve tool drawings from division, machine suppliers, tool vendors, etc
- Initiate and implement tool, fixture and part changes to improve product quality.
- Maintain all jigs, fixtures, and tools in-house
- Serve as a liaison between machine tool manufacturers service people and shop employees during new equipment start-up
- Provide support for set-ups and the associate training process.
- Must initiate and maintain process sheets for manufacturing processes.
- Initiate and formalize cost savings at both plant and division levels
- Review and modify standardized work and assembly work station designs to continually improve manufacturing flow.
- Lead engineering efforts to support all assembly flow line team initiatives.

Bachelors Degree in a technical related field or 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment working with assembly equipment. Possession of Six Sigma Green Belt certification in preferred as well as experience with automated assembly processes, integrated process control systems, and design and improvement of ergonomic assembly aides.
