Our client is in search of a Maintenance Manager to plan and direct the maintenance activities of all process machinery equipment, facilities equipment, and machine shop departments along with other production systems, on all shifts, to ensure that all equipment and systems are thoroughly maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the scheduling of maintenance on machinery, equipment and plant facilities with the assistance of the Maintenance Coordinator and a work order system. This system begins with the work requested by a department supervisor. The position holder investigates non-routine requests to determine what work must be done and to establish priorities. Oversee the coordination with all affected departments to minimize the loss of production due to maintenance activities.
- Develop and motivate an efficient and effective staff with respect to maintenance, safety, and teamwork. Additionally, the incumbent ensures the fair and consistent application of all policies and procedures of the Company. These policies include safety, personnel, quality, and other programs.
- Posses a solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and a solid understanding of engineering (electrical or mechanical). Additionally, the position holder must have a complete understanding of all plant facilities and equipment, and a high level of human relation skills to effectively develop and motivate maintenance personnel.
- Plan and direct maintenance operations, on all shifts, for manufacturing and building equipment, structures, and other production systems to ensure that all systems and equipment are thoroughly maintained.
- Plan and direct the activities of the Maintenance Department, on all shifts, to ensue that all manufacturing and building equipment, and related systems are maintained to provide for effective and efficient manufacturing operations.
- Oversee the daily activities of Process & Equipment Maintenance, Facilities and Building Maintenance and Maintenance Planning.
- Develop and motivate personnel in regards to maintenance activities, safety, and teamwork, and effectively prioritize and delegate work assignments to line supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with safety related practices to prevent work related accidents and injuries.
- Work closely with other production personnel to develop opportunities for improvements and in implementing solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial to the success of this position.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with 5 to 7 years experience in a similar environment; food manufacturing experience would be a plus.
- Working knowledge of maintenance responsibilities that should include building utilities and production line mechanics.
- Strong PC computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office. Experience in Microsoft Project and Access and Experience with SAP is desirable.
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing a plus, PLC Programming experience Highly Preferred.
