Position Summary

Under general direction of the Director – Hardware Engineering, responsible for development, upgrades, and maintenance of manufacturing areas, processes, systems and suppliers pertaining to AmerisourceBergen. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Co-ordinates and manages manufacturing process to fulfill design intent per released Development Engineering documentation.  Creates and maintains comprehensive assembly instructions for all  products; trains production associates and/or supervisors on these methods and any data records that need entered.Analyzes and plans workflow and space requirements; determines assembly tooling, and test fixture and program needs.Evaluates potential and existing contract manufactures to determine viability as a provider of manufacturing services.  Ensure the systems and processes used in manufacturing areas support the quality and delivery expectations of the Company.Supports selection of manufacturing part suppliers and evaluates and co-ordinates associated tooling needs.Investigates and assists in resolving manufacturing concerns relating to production, quality and product design; assists with design changes related to production and service needs. Works with Development Engineering during the product design phase to provide input dealing with manufacturability needs (DFM); analyze the manufacturability of the prototype designs and refines as necessary; operates as a memeber of the product development team.Analyzes released products and proposes performance improvement or cost reduction changes generated through processs, part or material changes.Performs related duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements

Requires completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education in Manufacturing/Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; normally requires a minimum of six (6) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
