MANUFACTURING ENGINEER I
JOB SUMMARY
Under close supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer I provide floor support for assigned value streams. Typical responsibilities may include plant layout, production methods and standards, costs and quality controls, and continuous improvement projects. Work is routine with detailed work instructions. Duties and responsibilities are entry-level and low in complexity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Evaluate, develop and test potential solutions for in-process manufacturing problems.
2. Evaluate manufacturability of engineering designs to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, quality standards, and customer needs.
3. Prepare and revise manufacturing documents, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) used to manufacture and test instruments.
4. Investigate and resolve standard vendor problems.
5. Use established policies and procedures to complete work assignments. May be assigned an element of a project or well defined tasks.
6. Interface with audit team and follow up to responses that relate to the production floor.
7. Respond to corrective actions and feedbacks that relate to the production floor to solve customer needs.
8. Assist senior level Manufacturing Engineers with projects.
9. Become familiar with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement methods.
10. Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
11. Completes other assignments requested.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Education - Required - Bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial) or related discipline.
2. Experience - 0 to 3 years manufacturing engineering experience.
3. Knowledge of: - Manufacturing systems. - Engineering design software. - Design, testing and troubleshooting techniques.
4. Core Competencies - Ability to read schematics, blue prints, and CAD drawings. - Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office tools. - Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills - Analytical, decision making, problem solving and research skills - College level language, math, reading, writing and reasoning skills - Knows and understands basic manufacturing engineering concepts and procedures - Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
