Electric Power Source is partnered with a Global Independent Power Producer that has embarked on a plan to re‐invent the way they perform generation construction projects. The goal is to add consistency of practice and improve construction project performance – safety, schedule, quality, and cost. A part of this initiative is to support all active construction projects in North America. A candidate is being sought for the Managing Director of Engineering and Construction by providing management support for all active projects. The position will also support business development with engineering support, cost estimates, contracting strategies, equipment procurement, contractor selection and contract negotiations.

A well-qualified candidate for the Managing Director of Construction & Engineering North America must possess a minimum of ten years of experience, 20 plus years of total experience is preferable.  The successful incumbent must possess significant current expertise and experience in the engineering and construction of a wide variety of generation projects in excess of 150 million dollars and be able to, and enjoy traveling.

Requirements

A.    In depth knowledge of the contractual, commercial and technical issues related to new plant construction with experience leading construction of new projects and/or negotiation of EPC Contracts.

B.     Deep experience of both the commercial and technical issues related to the design, engineering and construction of new plants, this includes the proven ability assisting a company in becoming a market leader in competitively priced power plant design, engineering and construction. Expertise in variety of plant construction and design including coal, gas turbine, combined cycle and hydro is a major plus

C.     Excellent Verbal and written communication skills are required. Fluency in Spanish and or Portuguese for the Latin American position is a plus. Fluency in French and or Russian is a plus for the Europe and Africa position.

D.    A proven track record of working with teams to improve a business through knowledge transfer.

E.     An in depth understanding of business costs versus returns, cost and schedule, finances and risk management combined with the ability to teach others the processes to enable them to meet business objectives.
