MANAGER, SALES VARIABLE PAY PROGRAMS

 

Provides direction and leadership in the development, implementation and administration of strategically focused compensation programs to ensure the achievement of sales plan objectives for growth and profitability.  Performs complex analysis on sales information to determine whether the plan has been successful in achieving sales goals and objectives.  Performs highly confidential special projects for sales management and assists in the reviews, development and implementation of new sales compensation programs including insurance, travel, membership and management incentives. Acts as the primary liaison to senior management, Human Resources and third party vendors/contractors for all aspects of the sales compensation programs.  Ensures the legal compliance of the compensation plan by serving as a primary liaison to the Legal Department regarding sales compensation and contract execution and administration. 

 

Provides the business requirements and readiness plans for technology solutions for sales compensation.  Oversees the implementation and maintenance of said solutions for all incentive compensation requirements. Provides oversight in the maintenance and update of software programs.  Manages the sales support and production analysis function. Provides recommendations to sales management regarding changes and revisions to sales incentive compensation plans as needed to ensure continued alignment with market conditions, strategic direction and corporate sales objectives. Ensures that all updates or modifications to compensation plans are communicated in a timely manner through various communication vehicles.

 

Participates in the department process relating to the selection, hiring, training and development, coaching and counseling of assigned staff.  Ensures the attainment of diversity with respect to recruitment, selection and training and development.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·         College level coursework in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or a related field.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Experience in the coordination, development, implementation and analysis of:

·         Sales bonus/incentive plans for staff and management

·         Sales compensation procedures and guidelines

 

Experience in/with:

·         The support, modification and maintenance of incentive/reward programs

·         Preparing analysis of statistical and financial data comparing peers, industry, corporate targets and history

·         Complex model development and manipulation for the support and analysis of compensation/financial recommendations

·         Coordination of major projects or functions

·         Software packages (e.g. Word, Excel,)

 

Knowledge of:

·         Federal and State guidelines and regulations related to compensation, including the Fair Labor Standards Act

·         Benchmarking, market analysis and related compensation functions

 

Management ability to include:

·         Leadership and decision making

·         Staffing and project scheduling

·         Development and monitoring of budgets

 

Ability to:

·         Develop and make presentations at large group meetings and to all levels of management

·         Identify requirements and develop systems to support Company compensation initiatives (e.g. incentive funding allocation, base salary adjustments, etc.)

·         Provide direction and guidance to others

 

·         Strong written communication skills required. (A writing sample may be required at time of interview).
