Job Description
Imagine yourself...Supervising all day-to-day activities associated with Sports Medicine programs, performing human resource supervisory responsibilities, providing operational leadership to ensure efficient and effective functioning of services.
Working collaboratively with Business Development, Public Relations, and the Wellness Director to develop and promote services in support of product line goals and wellness programs. Developing and maintaining relationships with community athletic programs and teams.
Responsible for developing, promoting and standardizing the quality for the Sports Programs including: program outcomes for site-specific, regional, and national benchmarking, performance improvement initiatives and plans for the product line, satisfaction data from clients and referral sources, establishing uniform documentation, billing/fee structures, standardizing procedures, program specific educational needs (students and staff), program specific clinical standards, program specific orientation and competencies, and program specific equipment needs.
Performing ongoing analyses of the marketplace to ensure the products and services offered meet the needs of the customer.
Serving as liaison and maintaining/facilitating department communication with other departments, staff, physicians, and/or the community to promote growth while maintaining quality. Overseeing physician relations with current and potential new referring physicians.
Working and/or consulting with other leadership on operational and clinical issues/strategies and facilitating implementation of care management strategies.
Frequently communicating with hospital departments, rehab professionals, medical staff, and external groups.
Serving as mentor for complex Sports Medicine cases. Providing patient care activities as needed according to standards and functions of his/her individual
professional practice and job description and standards for appropriate practice level,
including clinical competency and documentation.
This position reports to the Wellness Director.
General Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training required.
Licensed/certified in the state of Wisconsin.
A minimum of five years experience in sports medicine, including treatment and program development and a minimum of two years in leadership role.
Excellent communication and human relations skills to include experience communicating with physicians, staff, community partners, and other customers related to sports medicine.
Demonstrated ability to work on a multidisciplinary team in order to effectively treat and understand the needs of the sports medicine patient.
Demonstrates ability to independently make sound decisions regarding problems or operational issues.
Strong written and organization skills required.
Desired Qualifications
Dual licensure in both Physical Therapy and Athletic Therapy preferred.
