QUALIFICATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage Global, Thomas Bus, Cab/ Glider, and Inside Sales in Aftermarket Parts Sales departments to grow sales and improve overall profitability. Act as a customer advocate to senior management with regards to parts issues affecting areas of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS: Act as the voice of the customer to senior managers with regards to parts issues affecting areas of responsibility. Mentor and counsel team managers in four functional areas of assignment: Global, Bus, Cab/ Glider, and Inside Sales. Global Parts Team: Lead the global export parts business through the Team Manager. Market and Sell to Daimler affiliates, in-country dealers, and independent parts distributors throughout the world in support of Daimler Trucks. Establish training and best practice sharing with Daimler affiliates to grow their in-country sales. Liaise between suppliers and customers to establish a strong vendor presence in each country. Approve appropriate pricing in each market to ensure competitiveness and maximize profitability. Monitor freight forwarder performance to ensure customer service levels are met. Thomas Built Buses Parts Team: Work with dealers and aftermarket parts marketing to create new marketing programs to grow sales to bus dealers and fleet customers. Increase sales through the team manager. Help lead teams involved with bus parts technical assistance to dealer. Ensure high level of service to TBB dealer body. Liaise with Material Planning to maintain adequate stock levels in PDC’s. Represent Daimler Truck parts on TBB Dealer Advisory Council. Continually assess operations and make improvements. Approve pricing to TBB dealers to ensure competitiveness and maximize profitability. Cab and Glider Team: Lead the group engaged in selling truck glider kits and truck cabs. Act as a representative to senior management in order to address issues affecting engineering, production, traffic, and accounting. Work cross functionally with managers throughout Freightliner to improve operations and team performance. Develop and launch marketing and training programs to stimulate additional sales. Continually assess operations and make improvements to processes and systems. Approve pricing to Daimler dealers to ensure competitiveness and maximize profitability. Inside Parts Sales: Make decisions regarding high volume sales in order to grow sales while maintaining desired profits. Establish and monitor margin guidelines. Ensure the team provides excellent customer service for quote turn around and administration of marketing sales programs. Review and improve upon current business practices to provide the best customer service possible. Lead the sales program related to special promotions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or related field with at least nine years in heavy truck or related experience is required. At least four to six years of managerial/supervisory experience is required. Must have proficiency is Microsoft Office. Masters degree in sales, marketing, or related field is preferred.
