LaFrance Corp., an international manufacturing firm ($110 m) with corporate offices in Concordville, Pennsylvania has an immediate opening for a Manager of Accounting and Reporting. 

 

Position has primary responsibility for global financial closing and reporting. Directs processes and develops structures which capture and provide management with appropriate information to make good business decisions; monitors performance variances relative to goals; and establishes structures to ensure attainment of goals. Directly supervises staff accounting positions.

•Coordinates and supervises global monthly closing activities/reports and financial statement preparation including: General Ledger closing; Consolidated Financial Statement models;
International Joint Venture, financial statements and trend reporting; Product Source/Business Unit reporting; Monthly spending trends.

•Coordinates China monthly reporting and provides guidance with ongoing systems development, transaction processing and reporting.

•Coordinate financial and international partnership reporting with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans and trends. Communicates key business issues and trends to management.

•Active participation in operational review and cost reduction meetings with the Product sources and Joint Ventures.

•Oversee departmental spending with analysis to ensure optimal return on investments and expenditures. Recommend reductions or changes where appropriate.

•Analyzes key financial/performance information and variances to determine present and future financial performance, trends and requirements. Conducts special analysis to prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action including payback and working capital.

•Responsibility for schedule preparation for annual external audit and quarterly bank debt compliance requirements.

Requirements
•Minimum of 6-8 years experience as an accounting professional in a manufacturing environment; prefer prior plant accounting experience
•B.S. in Accounting with proven ability to analyze financial transactions
•Supervisory experience
•Excellent managerial, interpersonal and goal setting skills
•Proficient in MS Office
•Ability to travel to US and China facilities (estimated 10% travel)
