We are currently seeking a Manager of Quality Assurance  for our IT Department.  The QA Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management for the QA and Systems testing processes that are part of the I.T. Software Development Life Cycle.  Requires strong interpersonal and technical skills to work effectively and efficiently with Project Management, Application Development, Business Analysis, UAT and  I.T. Operations personnel.  Manages the system testing processes of software programs, procedures, systems, and documentation on all software releases.  Responsible for ensuring that QA procedures and practices are followed and maintained in order to ensure exhaustive testing of all software systems as well as compliance with system specifications and/or business requirements.

Responsible for the management of the Quality Assurance staff.  Requires strong leadership, coaching/mentoring, performance evaluation, growth planning and resource allocation skills. 

 

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Management of QA staff including regular employees and contractors.  Includes staff in remote locations.

·         Strategic as well as ad hoc test planning for complex technical systems and applications.

·         Development of detailed test proposals, test estimates and test schedules.

·         Development of test strategies, plans and test cases.

·         Reviews business and functional requirements and design to ensure they are clear and testable.

·         Ensures traceability of requirements to test cases and influences appropriate levels of ongoing requirements management for purposes of traceability.

·         Uses known industry standard QA testing methodologies and best practices to achieve superior quality products and services.

·         Works closely with Development managers and developers, I.T. analysts and Project Managers to verify system meets requirements

·         Manages and monitors QA work using PVCS Tracker and HP Quality Center.  Works with developers, analysts, project managers, UAT, business users, and external vendors on defect resolution.

·         Administer QA test tools

·         Knowledgeable in structured development protocols, e.g. version management, change management and build processes

A successful candidate for this position will have advanced experience in the following:

·         9+ years of professional experience in QA and Systems Testing,

·         3+ years in a QA management role.   Proven ability to manage a QA testing team.

·         B.A./B.S in MIS, CIS, Business Administration or a related field.

·         Knowledge and experience testing database technologies and web technologies including IBM Websphere.

·         Experienced with integration testing using stub testing techniques and XML messaging.

·         Experienced with the following testing tools:  Test Director/Quality Center, Quick Test Pro, LoadRunner

·         Experienced with the development of automated test scripts using QTP and Loadrunner.

·         Ability to provide good estimates and manage testing issues, along with flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and priorities.

·         Understanding of risk management as it relates to systems test planning.

·         Experience in development of test cases, test plans, system testing, integration/stub testing, regression testing, performance testing and release testing.  Willing and able to take a hands-on approach when necessary.

·         Experienced with establishing and reporting of defect and process metrics.

·         Communicates well, written and verbally.  Comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization.
