DescriptionPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:Spearhead the development of POA strategy in conjunction with the Senior Management Steering Committee and communicate same to the content development teams (TA Sales & Marketing/Corporate Communications) Direct the POA planning process involving Sales and Marketing leaders from the TAs and Managed Markets, Corporate Communications and various outside vendors Plan, coordinate and execute the Commercial Management and POA cycle meetings to ensure that the marketing plan of action is accurately and effectively brought to the sales organization. Work with internal and external event coordinators, outside vendors and financial controllers to identify optimal locations and manage the ~$ 5 million meeting expense budget Provide meeting planning and logistical support to the TA Sales and Managed Markets teams for their local POA meetings Provide logistical meeting support to Marketing for medical conventions and congresses Liaison with Sales Excellence and Training to assist with program logistical planning and execution MAIN INTERFACES:
INTERNAL WITHIN SERONO:Chief Commercial Officer, EVP of Neurology, EVP of Endocrinology, Sr. VP of Managed Markets, VP of Managed Markets Sales, Executive Business Directors, Field Sales (i.e., Key Account Managers (KAMs), Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) and Area Business and Strategic Account Directors (ABDs/DSAMs), Managed Markets (i.e., National Account Managers/Regional Account Managers), Marketing, and other key business unit personnel, and key Corporate personnel in US Communications, Compliance, Finance, Human Resources and the Legal department
EXTERNAL TO SERONO: Outside vendor contactsPfizer Meeting Planning KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESRoutine Tasks:Implement and maintain the cross functional POA planning process for all POA meetings both National, Regional and Area Drive the weekly content meeting process to develop timely agendas and event plans to ensure effective and cost efficient meeting outcomes Plan, organize and direct the execution of all POA meetings and assist internal Management in planning meeting activities Assist Sales Management in the logistical planning of local Area meetings Work in coordination with outside meeting planning vendors to ensure optimum locations are obtained and meeting logistics run smoothly Work in coordination with outside production companies to ensure staging and audio visual messaging is professional quality and meets intended objectives Provide post hoc analysis of POA meetings to ensure objectives were met and provide for course correction going forward Supervise, direct and support the activities of the Event Planner Act as liaison with Pfizer on meeting planning and related issues Assist Finance, the TAs and Managed Markets in the development of annual and quarterly meeting budget expectations and the administration of same Maintain Sales Meeting and Event calendar and communicate important event dates to presenters, participants and the Sales and Marketing members
EDUCATION & LANGUAGESUniversity/College degree - Business/Sciences background preferred MBA a plus Complete fluency in English
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCEMinimum of 2 years Sales experience and 2 years experience in a similar meeting planning/sales operations role. Previous sales/marketing experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical or consumer health products company Proven track record in Sales/Marketing planning, organization and administration as well as process improvement Computer literate - working knowledge and experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint Prior large event planning experience a plus
