If you are highly motivated, career driven and dedicated to producing quality software solutions, then CS STARS is looking for you.  CS STARS’ industry leading software and services help corporations, public entities, and insurers, improve business processes, manage costs and reduce risk.
CS STARS is expanding operations in their Amarillo, Atlanta, Chicago, and Detroit offices.  They are actively seeking a Software Development Manager.  This manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of STARS Custom Solutions Developers.  This team is responsible for the development of custom plugins and packages for clients against the STARS PE and STARS Enterprise product lines.  Experience with development against both platforms, or at least previous experience with writing custom solutions against STARS PE, is a bonus.
 
 
Travel will be required (up to 25%, at least one trip every 6-8 weeks).  International travel may be required.


The ideal candidate will have previous software development experience over the full software development lifecycle as well as previous experience as a development manager or lead developer.  Experience working with offshore or outsourced colleagues is a plus.  Candidates must have experience coding in Visual Basic 6, Visual C++, and C#.Net and experience with COM and ASP.NET solutions.  Database coding experience is strongly preferred (PL/SQL and Transact-SQL).  Experience with Crystal Reports and/or Business Objects is also preferred.  Non-technical skills must include good communication, interpersonal, decision making, and organizational skills.  The manager will be expected to be hands-on with development as required by the project and also to serve as a mentor to build overall team aptitude in development skills.  The manager will be required to work closely with counterparts in Product Management and Quality Assurance in order to foster the STARS single team development methodology and ensure successful and high-quality deliverables.
