TITLE: DIRECTOR OF SEC Reporting
LOCATION: Overland Park
REPORTS TO: VP - Controller
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: This highly visible role is responsible for making a substantive contribution to the organization. This position will work with the Sr. Management team and all areas of the company in the reporting of all Compliance matters. This person will lead by example and communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Write and coordinate internal and external review for filing SEC documents, 10-K, 10-Qs
- Ensure company compliance with current GAAP and SEC rules
- Identify and assist in filing 8-Ks and Form 4’s for required matters
- Identify, research and resolve key, emerging and new accounting issues
- Must be able to effectively communicate with and influence senior management, accounting and finance, operations, legal advisors and many others
- Outstanding communication skills – written, oral and presentation
- Provide insight and sound financial information to aid in the decision making process for CEO, CFO, Controller, Investor Relations, Tax
- Maintain stock option records and processes to maintain accuracy
- Lead role in complex accounting issues such as pension and derivative accounting
- Develop/maintain relationships with key business contacts
- Promote “High Performance Culture” by example and in all actions
- Filing of SEC documents using in-house software
- Documenting the company’s accounting positions and practices
- Assist in financial statement consolidations, reviews, and audit activities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA is required.
Public Accounting experience preferred.
10+ years of SEC reporting experience.
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills are required.
Experienced with Edgarization software preferred
