JOB TITLE: Director of Logistics and Inventory
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Vice President
POSITION SCOPE
This role is responsible for the development of the inventory planning & management for multiple products and multiple distribution models. This includes execution of the merchandise flow plan such as achieving Distribution Center fill rates, inventory turnover, in-stock percentage, development and management of inventory reorder points, safety stock and inventory goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and manage to reorder points. Understand and maintain the required safety stocks for both domestic and import products. Analyzes sales and stock levels to ensure that reorder recommendations made by the replenishment system reflect the sales trend, standards and turnover goals. Ensures the department/line estimates, forecasts and working plans reflect current conditions. Optimize the use of vendor DC’s for safety stock and just in time delivery models. Monitors inventory performance and direct appropriate mid-course corrections to forecast. Utilizes and maintains forecasting/planning tools to drive results. Conducts forecasting meeting with the vendor community to ensure proper production of merchandise to be purchased in the future. Develops Distribution Center (DC) level plans, for both domestic and import products, and integrating these plans with logistics and DC operating plans. Ensures that allocation strategy & replenishment system settings are tuned to optimize inventory productivity. Expertly utilizes the appropriate tools and levers to optimize in-stock and minimize unproductive inventories. Facilitates and completes the weekly/monthly recap with data and analysis. Supports the business review and line review processes with data and analysis. Selects appropriate replenishment strategies (weeks of coverage, review method, etc.). Maintains productive and supportive working relationships with market locations. Assist with performance analysis in preparation for Product Line Reviews. Makes quality inventory and purchase recommendations to the Merchant team. Conducts weekly staff meeting with the Inventory Analysts to motivate, educate, inform and develop the associates to accomplish all tasks necessary on a daily basis.

Education: Bachelor Degree preferred.
