Our client is seeking an individual to fill a Manager of Engineering position.  

 

Responsibilities

Effectively manages schedules and resources to produce deliverables on time and within budgetParticipates in engineering code reviews, design and planning sessions and team meetings as necessaryProvides technical support for customers and sales staff on applications, product performance, testing, product failures and troubleshootingEvaluates returned materials and other non-conforming productsReviews/creates technical documents detailing company requirements for products from suppliersCommunicates with suppliers in the resolution of product/component issuesWorks with support and sales teams to identify recurring product issues and/or field deployment problems and solutions for addressing issuesCommunicates progress against deliverables and project status to management and team membersManages resources to maximize efficiency across multiple tasks and/or projectsOther responsibilities include: design optimization, design for manufacturability, preparing cost estimates, establishing design drawing and document control, participating in product selection and performing standard engineering calculations (stress, process flow, product and piping system sizing).  Duties require development of standards that establish design tolerances, stress limits of materials and other elements of product design

  Requirements:

BS degree in engineering, preferably mechanical5 years relevant experience managing engineers in related field

 Key skills include:

Working knowledge of fluid flow, heat transfer and stress analysisKnowledge of mechanical engineering principles – strong analytical and practical engineering skillsWorking knowledge of design and analysis software toolsAbility to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of mediaAbility to interact with all levels of the organizationAbility to build a cohesive teamStrong talent development capabilitiesAbility to facilitate the completion of team goals
