Department Description:
Corporate Accounting & Reporting has as its mission the development of financial information and the provision of services that are objective, timely, cost effective and contribute to the decision making process of internal and external customers. Responsibilities of the department include: worldwide consolidation, account reconciliations, preparation of financial analyses, preparation and filing of consolidated financial statements with the Securities and Exchange Commission and other governmental agencies, interpretation and implementation of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and the creation, modification and dissemination of the Company's accounting policies. The Department is also responsible for the control and reporting of capital expenditures and the reporting of Corporate expenses against budget.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be the primary liaison between Corporate Accounting and the SBU's/departments. Responsibilities include answering any US GAAP questions of the SBU's/departments, establishing and communicating policies and procedures, maintaining open, active lines of communications between Corporate and the SBU's/departments, writing position papers and interpreting new and existing US GAAP. The position will have ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of accounting related to complex areas (e.g., restructuring, executive-based compensation, etc.) This position will also be responsible for supervising and developing up to two direct reports, GAAP research and undertake accounting related to more complex areas. Other responsibilities of this position will include special projects, on an as needed basis, assistance with the creation of the annual report, publishing a quarterly accounting and finance newsletter, assistance with the GAAP training of accounting associates and the review of various monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and other work papers.

Qualifications:

Required-
* Bachelor's or higher level Degree in Accounting
* CPA
* 7 or more years of relative professional experience including:

* Application and interpretation of GAAP to multi-fact scenarios
* Authoring of position papers as to appropriate accounting treatment
* Preparation/review of financial statements and/or footnotes

* Flexible work schedule and willingness to work through completion of a project
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
* A good mix of technical competency and strong people skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred-
* Big-4 public accounting experience
* SAP experience
