RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager of Accounting Policy and Technical Accounting will be an individual contributor team member responsible for:

1-Responsible for developing and maintaining a number of Visa Inc.´s global accounting policies in accordance with GAAP and SEC standards. Provide ongoing training to regional finance teams on policies and new accounting standards

2-Proficient in researching and applying U.S. GAAP and IFRS to business activities and documenting analysis for senior management and external auditors

3. Maintain the Accounting Policy Team SOX documentation and updates. Become the department liaison with the SOX Controls Office. Monitor the team´s adherence to controls and facilitate the annual testing and work through gaps and remediation as necessary

5-Responsible for identifying and tracking all  new and proposed accounting standards, drafting position papers to determine impact to company, gather data from regions on applicability and develop new or incorporate into existing accounting policies. Draft and present the "Quarterly GAAP/SEC Accounting Update"

7-Draft the Company´s significant accounting policies / new pronouncement footnote disclosure for the quarterly/annual disclosures

8-Maintain, update and publish the Chart of Accounts guidelines, definitions and new requests. Perform periodic clean ups of inactive accounts. Provide ongoing training on consistent usage of chart of accounts

9. Responsible for maintaining, reviewing and summarizing the quarterly impairment analysis questionnaires related to the company´s investments portfolio and long-lived assets

10. Responsible for reviewing the upfront hedging documentation as well as review of the ongoing accounting entries in accordance with the Accounting for Derivatives policy

REQUIOREMENTS:

CPA (active status)    REQUIRED
6 years of experience including 3 years minimum of Big Four public accounting and 3 years minimum of corporate experience (mid to large size public company)

Direct involvement with SOX functions and FAS 133 accounting application

Strong technical accounting skills and experience in the implementation and handling of US GAAP accounting matters as well as familiarly with accounting research tools

Strong communication skills, especially in developing position papers and presenting to auditors and management

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a focus on customers

Well developed problem solving skills to facilitate problem identification, generation of alternative solutions and adaptation to changing situations

Ability to mange to a successful resolution of issues and management of multiple complex assignments simultaneously

Self-starter, flexible and change oriented

Preferable experience in the preparation of SEC financial statement and footnotes for a public company

Experience in comparing US GAAP to IFRS
