Responsibilities:

Responsible to provide direction to first line supervisors and hourly associates in the FC or SDO. Accountable for the daily, weekly and monthly planning, preparation and performance of his/her team of associates ensuring the perfect order. Directly manages supervisor(s) with a team of associates.

Associate will work with a mentor and the Manager to understand the competencies and functional skills required to be successful at the management level. Associate will also spend time in an SDO/FC and will be exposed to a Contact Center over the course of their preparation. (Intended to be a short-term assignment (1-2 years) before moving into a Manager role or MIT 2 role. If a Manager position is declined, associate will move into a supervisor role if available.)

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Manager with the following duties-train on how to independently execute.


1. Oversees supervisor(s) and associates to ensure products get properly processed and ultimately out to customers for timely delivery.
2. Assist in the development of productivity & accuracy standards and follow-up to ensure acceptable quality control standards are met. Work to improve accuracy and customer service and quality levels in each department.
3. Analyze and make improvement recommendations to established departmental processes and procedures.
4. Responsible for ensuring that department associates are trained on safe work practices. Manage associates keeping those safe work practices as first priority, making sure they are followed to support a safe work environment.
5. Develop supervisors to be capable of coaching, counseling and motivating associates to attain optimum performance, productivity levels, and associate morale. Ensure communication and teamwork among staff to aid in the accomplishment of the department objectives. Provide for continued on the job training for all associates
6. Ensure that all company and HR policies and practices are communicated to department associates and practiced consistently (i.e. Attendance policy, Workers Comp programs, Frameworks, etc)
7. Monitor operational policies and procedures to ensure the most efficient and effective processing and delivery of orders as well as excellence in customer service levels.
8. Representation of the Staples in a positive and professional manner.

Requirements:

1. Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources to arrive at optimal problem solutions.

2. Ability to identify ways to streamline and/or improve efficiency of work and to prioritize process improvement efforts.

3. Demonstrated practice of exemplary leadership skills. Foster a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to the work.

4. Ability to delegate effectively.

5. Ability to seek diverse ideas and points of view to achieve business success.

6. Ability to convey a strong sense of urgency and to drive issues to closure.

7. Computer literate (PC especially and Warehouse Management Systems a plus)

8. Ability to relocate to any part of the United States.

9. Two - three years in related work experience and a bachelor's degree in a related area of concentration typically required for this position.
