REQUIREMENTS: Degree in one of the following is necessary: M.D., D.O., PharmD, Ph.D., R.Ph., R.N., P.A., N.P., or M.S. in a scientific discipline is preferred. Minimum of three years clinical and three years pharmaceutical experience is preferred. A total of five years in either discipline is acceptable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Opinion Leader Scientific Exchanges: The Manager, Regional Medicine will be responsible for development and relationship building of a minimum of 35 Opinion Leaders (to include 8 Active Leaders), and is expected to conduct a minimum of four 'face-to-face' scientific exchanges (based on the topics of the scientific platform) with each Opinion/Active Leader per year. In addition, the Manager, Regional Medicine must contact, through alternative means (e.g., e-mail, telephone, etc.), each Opinion Leader a minimum of 8 times per year. All contacts ('face-to-face' and via alternative means) must be recorded and reported in accordance with corporate compliance and legal standards, and HSS expectations. Clinical presentations: The Manager, Regional Medicine will be required to present clinical data/information to a number of different venues, to include, but is not limited to Managed Care Organizations, Hospital, Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committees, Medical School Fellowship and/or Residency programs, clinical practices, Opinion Leaders, etc. Medical Education venue attendance/participation (e.g., Congresses, Conferences, Symposia, etc.): The Manager, Regional Medicine will be required to attend, and participate as directed by the Associate Director, Therapeutic Area, medical education venues (i.e., congresses, conferences, etc.). Continuing Medical Education: via a number of different academic avenues, the Manager, Regional Medicine will be required to maintain his/her academic and scientific aptitude. Special Projects: Via the direction of the Associate Director, Therapeutic Area, the Manager, Regional Medicine will be assigned special projects to assist in the business direction of the organization and the therapeutic area.
