AREVA NP is dedicated to the design and construction of nuclear power plants and research reactors, instrumentation and control, modernization and maintenance services, components manufacture and the supply of nuclear fuel.
Position Description Responsible for day to day management of the Systems Engineering organization. This includes identification of opportunities/marketing, development of scope, preparation of bid proposals and associated estimates in accordance with AREVA processes and procedures. Includes managing engineering resources - assigning the correct resources to each task, assigning project engineers (leads), and project managers and assuring they have the organizational support required to successfully complete project tasks, identifying and hiring required resources, and performing annual reviews.
Responsible for financial performance of the discipline organization - supporting company financial goals and meeting group and project financial goals. Includes problem solving, initial conceptual designs and scoping, review of in process activities to ensure AREVA standards of technical quality are met, and ensuring AREVA products meet client requirements and expectations.
Customer: Demonstrate understanding of client requirements and effectively incorporate requirements and innovative solutions into project deliverables. Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers at
all levels within their organization and gain their trust and respect.

Group Description Systems Engineering is within the Nuclear Engineering Business Unit and the main focus is on performing engineering services for the commercial nuclear generating stations in the US. This involves consulting on systems and equipment problems, operational and maintenance issues, designing modifications to the existing facility, and performing analyses to support modifications and existing design bases and licensing requirements. Feasibility studies, strategic planning for equipment upgrades, and plant reliability studies are also performed.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Engineering Manager I opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position. BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus minimum 15 years experience. Required experience in PWR and BWR Nuclear Plant design, modifications to operating nuclear power plants, and analysis. Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications, ability to compose complex technical documents, formal letters, invoices, presentations, papers, etc., experienced in working in a multi-disciplined environment and interfacing with engineers, management, and client management, and have the ability to multi-task under time pressure.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position. Working knowledge of personal computers and software applications with MS office application proficiency.
