Within the Corporate Office, the Manager Government Accounting will have duties to include audit support with DCAA (the Defense Contract Audit Agency) and negotiations of issues with DCMA (the Defense Contract Management Agency). Tasks will also consist of analysis of expenditures for compliance with CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) and FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) Parts 30 & 31. The Manager will interface with various business segments of Raytheon, conduct research and provide guidance with respect to government accounting regulatory matters. S/He will participate with industry groups to respond to commentary requests from regulatory organizations when drafting new and revised regulations and statutes.


Primary Responsibilities:

· Support Advanced Agreement Analysis and negotiation for corporate independent research and development expenditures as well as for the corporate aircraft

· Assist in the preparation of incurred cost notices to be distributed to the business segments of the company

· Prepare the quarterly Companywide Government Accounting Managers Meeting materials and indirect rate reserve analysis (corporate portion only)



Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

· Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics or related field

· 6 years’ progressive experience in government accounting, public accounting or private industry

· 3 years’ leadership experience managing a team in an accounting environment

· Working knowledge of overhead rate and indirect cost rate accounting

· Understanding of CAS and FAR


· Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills

· Ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks

· Advanced Excel skills





Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

· Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field

· 2 – 4 years’ experience at a "Big 4" accounting firm

· Experience with SAP system and reporting
