The four course fondue dining experience offers guests a chance to "Dip into something different".  The guest and working environment is upscale, casual and fun.  High quality,entertaining service is critical to the continued success of the restaurant.  The per person average for our dinner only concept is $45.

The Melting Pot is seeking a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Front of the House Manager eager to provide a Perfect Night Out for all of our guests. The Melting Pot restaurants feature tableside service with a full menu and fine wine in an upscale environment. Our managers lead one of the most impressive restaurant concepts in North America by ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent execution of operational standards and guidelines. We offer a flexible schedule, fun atmosphere, high earning potential and a great support team. REQUIREMENTS and DESCRIPTION

•Minimum of 2 years management experience in the restaurant business (not fast food).

•Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

•A background or interest in wine is a plus.

•This position requires excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality

•Verification of previous employment & references will be conducted.

 

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

A Melting Pot Manager will perform a variety of different functions throughout the work day.   The working environment is dynamic and challenging and requires creative and critical thinking individual.  Each manager is assigned an area of responsibility as well as daily dining room management responsibilities.

 

Over all responsibilities

Smile and maintain a professional appearance that exemplifies excellence
Train and develop front of the house team in all areas of cost control as needed
Monitor front of the house labor costs through constant evaluation of training,productivity, and weekly labor projections compared to actual hours
Supervise assigned staff to deliver outstanding products and services that exceed our guests' expectations
Ensure all financial and administrative reporting is accurate and submitted accordingly
Maximize bar/beverage cost controls through training, monitoring, inventory controls and current POS pricing structures
Have a desire to learn with a positive outlook

 

Dining Room Management

   Insure each guest enjoys a "Perfect Night Out"

   Be a clientele builder

   Coordinate the service of the servers, server assistants and bussers

   Solve service problems

     

  Opening and Closing Shift Responsibilities

  These shifts are rotated among managers.

   

      OPENING SHIFTS     

           Insure proper staffing

           Coordinate w/kitchen to insure proper prep and staffing

           Daily reservations management

           Conduct daily training meeting

           Daily bookkeeping

           Daily receiving

 

   CLOSING SHIFTS       

           Perform all server checkouts

           Manage cash and deposits

           Reconcile daily accounting and gift cards

           Assign and inspect closing work

 

Specialty Area Responsibilities

Each manager is assigned a specific focus area.  This insures detailed attention in critical areas.  These responsibilities are expanded or changed to insure cross training and your career development.

           Some Examples:

              Wine& Spirits Manager

              Smallwares & Maintenance

             Reservations and Sales

              Payroll and Accounting

              Training and Scheduling

             Purchasing, Receiving and Inventory

              Menu and POS management

              Special Project Assignments

 

WORK SCHEDULE

   5 day work week average 50 - 60 hours

   2 days off in a row

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

4 year degree or equivalent experience preferred. 

 

Language/Computer Skills

Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English, proficiency in Spanish as secondary/primary language is encouraged.  Must have the ability to write, analyze, and evaluate various reports, manuals, and internal and external business correspondence.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows with Knowledge of Excel, MS Word and email.  Must have the ability to present information in an organized, accurate, clear, and concise format.  

 

 

Management Experience preferred but not required

Restaurant Experience is required – Full service

 

Fine wine & spirits knowledge helpful

Computer literacy required

Excel, Word, accounting software and POS experience is helpful

 

High Energy, Positive outlook, Non-fraternizing maturity and a good sense of Humor

 

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Negotiable Base Salary and Bonus Program

$35,000 - $40,000 Based on Experience and education
