We are currently seeking a Federal Tax Manager to join us in our Detroit office with a primary emphasis on tax provision audit support and tax provision assistance services.

KPMG's Federal Tax Services Practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest IRS rules and regulations and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) standards for accounting for income taxes. Our tax professionals who handle federal tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver tax provision audit support and tax provision assistance services to help meet our clients' specific needs.

Responsibilities:

* Work as a part of an audit team that reviews, documents, and signs off on tax provisions
* Assist non-audit clients on accounting for income tax matters and tax provision accruals arising in the ordinary course of business and from transactional or reorganization activity
* Team with our Global Tax Transformation Service to assist clients in tax processes, internal controls, software systems and risk management
* Perform overall engagement planning and job administration
* Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members

Qualifications:

* Five years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience with an emphasis on accounting for income taxes under FAS 109 and FIN 48 for corporate entities
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a J.D. from an accredited college/university
* Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters including tax provision experience
* Excellent research and writing skills
* Ability to handle multiple engagements
* Licensed CPA
* Able to work with staff in a training capacity
