Manager, System Engineering

 

Responsible for engineering support of major plant systems at an Entergy Nuclear plant. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Oversee plant systems monitoring, trend analysis, and criticality determinations. Oversee root cause analysis for plant system issues. Post Modification Testing. Support Maintenance “Fix It Now” team through minor modifications and troubleshooting activities. Ensure failure free fuel performance. Resolve plant system issues through troubleshooting and problem solving support. Review engineering work assignments to ensure the staff is responding appropriately to department and organizational needs. Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Operations, and PS&O Managers to minimize plant and system downtime and maximize plant power generation. Control engineering cost through maximization of staff productivity and tracking expenditures within budget parameters. Oversees procedures and documentation which govern and control systems engineering activities. Represents the department at meetings to discuss and resolve matters effecting nuclear plant safety, industrial safety, radiological safety, and environmental conditions. Propose process and design changes that improve station and personnel efficiency. Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.

Required Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Manager level. A degree is very strongly preferred). 8 years experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, P&SO, or equivalent. 5 years of supervisory/management experience in an operating nuclear power plant environment. Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.

 

Desired Qualifications:

SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR. 5 years experience in the engineering department. Professional engineering license. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
