 CREDIT, COLLECTIONS & ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE MANAGER

 


The Port Authority of NY & NJ is a bi-state public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce; operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region; and rebuilding the World Trade Center.

 

We currently have an opening for a Credit, Collections & Accounts Receivable Manager to direct the activities of the division, which include but are not limited to:
 

·        Establishing and enforcing the Port Authority’s credit policies to protect its interest and safeguard its assets.

·        Assisting and participating in the negotiations of leases in matters relating to ownership, credit and accounts receivable issues.

·        Developing and maintaining professional contacts with Port Authority executive management staff and representatives of outside organizations to communicate policies and to effectuate resolution of amounts due to the agency. 

·        Preparing and presenting presentations to the Audit Committee on a quarterly basis on the status of accounts receivable.

·        Liaison with the law department on all legal matters pertaining to delinquent accounts and bankruptcies.

·        Administering the Accounts Receivable module of SAP (a financial management system), including the lockbox operation to ensure accuracy of the financial records and information. 

·        Perform analysis to determine the collectibles of accounts receivable to determine whether accounts receivable should be written off or a bad debt reserve established.

·        Special Projects, as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, along with at least 5-7 years experience in a managerial and/or supervisory role in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections. Excellent supervisory, leadership, negotiation, presentation, conflict resolution, analytical, decision-making, and communications skills are required. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
